Isabelle Ribuot is a French artist who was born in Paris and demonstrated an early affinity for art. As a teenager, she moved to Africa with her family and was exposed to the richness and diversity of their Ethnic Arts. In her early twenties, She moved near Sainte Victoire mountain in Provence, a region in the south of France. This area inspired many of Cezanne’s paintings. There she attended the Academy of Beaux Arts in Aix en Provence where she studied various art forms.
Isabelle later moved to Switzerland to pursue her interest in painting and clay modeling while studying Eastern philosophy. In 1996, she came to the United States to deepen her artistic knowledge. She also studied various forms of psychology; specifically Jungian Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara and Spiritual psychology at the University of Santa Monica in California.
While Isabelle’s past works include bronze and clay sculptures, her professional medium is painting. Isabelle’s artwork is a celebration of life. Her imagery is inspired by her life experiences and offers her the opportunity to go beyond her everyday perceptions and embrace a deeper connection with her essence. Her inspirational paintings invite the viewer to do the same.
Ultimately, her inspiration is the marriage of various influences including the early exposure of ethnic art, her studies in Eastern philosophy and psychologies, her European culture and her love for the marvels and wonders of the physical world.
Isabelle considers the act of painting as surrendering to the creative flow and she shares this approach in her workshops.
